This handbook has been prepared for participants on the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists’ Basic Practical Skills in Obstetrics and Gynecology course. The course has been designed to introduce trainees to safe surgical techniques and obstetric clinical skills in a structured workshop environment. The course consists of three modules that emphasize on the importance of sound anatomy knowledge, the correct development of tissue planes, the appropriate way of tissue handling and the need to obtain meticulous hemostasis. In addition, trainees will be initiated into basic obstetrical skills and practice these under direct supervision.
